Probate litigation involves boyriend of deceased real estate icon

A legal battle has arisen in another state regarding the estate of a real estate mogul who was found unresponsive on her living room couch. Her cause of death was determined as an opioid overdose. Since her passing, her former boyfriend and her surviving family members are entangled in probate litigation. The boyfriend is also now facing criminal charges related to the situation.

The woman’s estate is reportedly worth more than $600,000. Her former boyfriend, who is said to have been the one to find her lying on the couch, has been arrested for stealing from her estate. He supposedly submitted a last will and testament, naming himself as sole executor to the decedent’s estate, which has prompted numerous legal actions against him.

Local authorities believe the man doctored the will. Prosecutors have publicly stated that the investigation of the incidents that may have led to her death is by no means concluded. The decedent’s family has urged police to aggressively investigate the matter because they do not trust the man with whom she was romantically involved at the time of her death.

Family members are currently involved in probate litigation against the woman’s former boyfriend. The court has repeatedly ordered him to return more than half a million dollars he withdrew from the decedent’s accounts. He was arrested but posted more than $100,000 bond to secure his own release. Any Illinois resident facing similar problems in the wake of a loved one’s death can seek support by requesting a meeting with an experienced probate law attorney.
